The PTA would love to announce this year’s nominating committee. These wonderful women will be available for you to call in and nominate someone, or yourself, for a position on the PTA Board. The board positions are President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership VP, and Education VP.

Other board positions are appointed by the President and are not voted on. These are called commissioner positions. Commissioner positions include the Education Commissioner, Community Involvement Commissioner, Family Life Commissioner, Health & Safety Commissioner, Technology Commissioner, and Newsletter Editor. If you would like to be considered for a commissioner position, please call and leave your name and area of interest with the nominating committee.

Being on the board or even volunteering is a wonderful way to get involved with your child’s education and help in making decisions in recognizing their efforts. The PTA helps in doing so many things from, the talent show, to dibels testing, to Field Day. Please get involved if you have the chance and means. Every little bit counts!

utahptaWelcome back to another year of education and entertainment  at Whittier Elementary!

We are excited to being the new year!  We have new board members and new staff.  Let’s all work together to make this the best year yet!

    A few things to note…

    • We are NOT collecting Wal-mart bags this year.  Wal-mart has decided to discontinue the program.  Thank you for all of your past support with this effort!
    • Membership for this year is now open!  Dues are $5.00/adult.  Have five kids in Whittier?  No problem!  You only need to pay the dues once!
    • We could use your help!  If you would like to volunteer for programs like skate night, the eye screening, and Spirit Week, contact our Community Involvment Commissioner, Lonni Myler, at 801-955-3362.

Every family should discuss ways to squash germs. All schools in Granite District are currently educating students ways to avoid spreading germs. Let’s try to reinforce this at home. We can all become super buggy squashers before the flu season begins!
